Overview of Precision Filters

Precision filters (also known as security filters) are generally made of stainless steel for the cylinder shell, and use tubular filter elements such as PP melt blown, wire burned, folded, titanium filter element, activated carbon filter element, etc. as filter elements inside. Different filter elements are selected according to different filter media and design processes to meet the requirements of effluent quality. The body can also be equipped with a quick installation type for convenient and efficient replacement of filter elements and cleaning. Precision filter is a type of filtration between sand filtration and ultrafiltration, with a filtration accuracy generally above 5um, which can remove suspended solids, colloidal substances and other impurities in water. Precision filtration generally uses polypropylene fiber melt blown filter cartridges or wire wound filter cartridges as filter materials, which have the characteristics of small filtration volume, high precision, low filtration resistance, high water flux, acid and alkali resistance, etc. This device is widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food, beverages, water treatment, brewing, petroleum, printing and dyeing, and environmental protection. It is an ideal equipment for filtering, clarifying, and purifying various liquid pretreatment processes.

Maintenance and Repair

1. The core component of a precision filter is the filter element, which is a vulnerable component that requires special protection.

2. Long term operation of precision filters can block a certain amount of impurities, which can slow down the working rate. Therefore, it is necessary to clean them regularly and also clean the filter element.

3. During the cleaning process, special attention should be paid to the cleaning of the filter element, avoiding deformation or damage, otherwise it will lead to a decrease in filtration accuracy and fail to meet production requirements.

4. If the filter element is found to be deformed or damaged, it must be replaced immediately.

5. Some precision filter cartridges cannot be reused multiple times, such as polypropylene PP melt blown filter cartridges, etc;

6. The inlet and outlet water of the security filter should be equipped with pressure gauges. When the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet water reaches the limit value during operation, the filter element should be replaced in a timely manner. Due to the low cleaning and recovery efficiency of the filter element, disposable filter elements are used.
